Guiding Children's Behaviour

Guiding Children’s Behaviour provides a framework for service teams to understand and respond to children’s behaviour in the context of their Early Childhood Education (ECE) service. It aims to support teachers and educators to provide inclusive environments in which all children have equitable access to resources, participation, and opportunities to engage in learning, through:

• An understanding of children’s development
• Reflection on the social and emotional environment
• Analysis of the physical environment
• Development of individualised behaviour support plans which address the varying
• complexities and extremes of behaviour
